About Us: Corporate Social Responsibility

Charity Work

TorFX employees are enthusiastic and dedicated when it comes to supporting charitable causes.

Since TorFX was founded more than 10 years ago various staff members have pushed themselves to their physical limits in order to raise money for a wide range of local and national charities.

Our efforts are focussed around our annual charity golf day and The London Marathon, where a team of TorFX ‘athletes’ is dispatched every year. We are proud to have raised over £60,000 for The Children’s Society and Children with Cancer UK through these events.

On top of actively supporting individual members of staff in their money raising efforts, TorFX holds a weekly sponsored dress-down day, with donations going to a different local or national charity every month.

Charities we have recently supported include:

  • Children’s Hospice South West
  • Comic Relief
  • The Children’s Society
  • St John’s Ambulance
  • National Animal Welfare Trust
  • RNLI
  • Cornwall Air Ambulance
  • St Julia’s Hospice
  • Cornwall Flood Fund
  • Project Peru
  • The Cinnamon Trust
  • The Sensory Trust
  • The Mercedes Curnow Foundation for the Early Detection of Cervical Cancer
  • Bristol Children’s Hospice
  • Macmillan
  • Age Concern UK

Environment

Being based in one of the most beautiful counties in the UK constantly reminds all of us at TorFX of the importance of being environmentally proactive.

As well as recycling all reusable materials within the office, we have made a conscious effort to cut down on printouts where possible and now use energy efficient lighting throughout the office. We also strongly encourage our staff to lift-share as a means of cutting down on individual carbon emissions.

Local and Graduate Employment

During difficult economic times our company has remained a significant source of employment within the South West, particularly for local graduates. Within our expanding workforce we have created employment opportunities for promising former students from local educational bodies – including Falmouth University and Truro College.

We also support other locally-based businesses, sourcing necessary goods and services from companies within the South West wherever possible.
